Health and Safety

High Tech High schools will continue following the CDC guidance for COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses. 

CDPH COVID Information

Specific guidance relating to COVID is as follows: for anyone who has tested positive for COVID, they can return to regular activity (like school/work) as long as BOTH of these things are true: 

1. Their symptoms are getting better

2. They have been fever free without fever reducing medication for 24 hours

3. Per CAL OSHA, staff must wear a mask for 10 days following a positive test while at work around others.

Annual Staff Training Requirements

For All Staff

• Mandated Reporter Training

• Anti-Harassment and Abusive Conduct Training (every two years)

• Title IX Training

• Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Training

• Active Armed Assailant and Emergency Response Training (ALICE)

Additionally, for Certificated Staff

• First Aid, CPR, and AED Training (every two years)

• LGBTQ+ Student Support Training (PRISM - coming 2025-26 school year)
